HOME INFORMATION PACKS

The Government has announed the suspension of the Home Information Packs (HIPS). Homes marketed for sale on or after the 21 of May, 2010 will no longer require a HIP. The requirement for an Energy Performance Certificate will remain but the seller need only to have commissioned this before marketing the property and not in receipt of this document. This is no doubt great news for all those people wishing to market the property without the initial expense, often running into hundreds of pounds.

EPCs are still required for all properties put onto the market for sale and also for properties put onto the market for rent.
